True Capitalism is a Hellish road to Heaven

This is a pretty interesting topic to consider, so let me sum it up;

"If we ancaps were born and raised under a minarchist, modern "Wild West America"...would we have ever been pushed to become ancaps in the first place? Would socialism be less popular in this modern day, minarchist society? Or would people still be willing to give up their freedom for "free" healthcare?"

Thanks for any answers and REMEMBER to try and think from a neutral perspective (though it's OK if you fail to, political neutrality is difficult, and a long, biased opinion is still something I'm willing to read).

Honestly, if we lived under a minarchist state, I'd likely be pretty content and probably never would have become an anarchist.

"Free" healthcare has been available a long time.  It is only recently that it was outlawed.  Religious hospitals tended to lead the way in it.  There is a local hospital system that has been providing free care for an entire city.  The free hospital is only available to those in need, and is funded by the other hospitals in the network.

A few years ago it was basically outlawed to give free health care.  It is a big political game.  Now those in need have to vote for the government health care systems.

I am not sure if you are suggesting that in ancap people would actually pay to sit on a park bench or not, but I pity anyone with such a lack of forethought.  It would be like suggesting that wal-mart is going to charge you to park, or walk inside.  There is a difference between a service with a revenue stream, and enabling it.

I suppose, under some circumstances, someone might be willing to pay to sit on a bench, but it's much more likely that people will pay to advertise on the park bench, and let people sit on the bench for free.  Bench advertising is already done today, so you don't even have to imagine an ancap society to see it.
