Come to Maine after a snow storm (like today) and drive a couple miles. The lack of care the state has for plowing and filling potholes is quite evident. I'm sure (at least I hope) a privately owned road would plow the damn thing every once in a while.

Yeah...I don't see it.

Better evidence is the fact the state uses private contractors to build the roads.
