What makes it more sad is that Brazil had good chances of becoming, in the long run, as rich as the United States. But now they're just becoming another Russia (which, because of it's resources, also had similar chances).
EDIT: What I mean by it becoming like Russia is that Russia, because of its huge population and large quantities of natural resources, could be a superbly wealthy country if it wasn't because of their asinine government.
