I am left to wonder if he is as diligent about the rest of the Bill of Rights.

However, it is hard to stand up to authority in any way, and I respect him for doing so.

Also, I think we need to be somewhat careful with our praise. On private property the owner of said property DOES have the right to halt your freedom of speech- for example, I have the right to tell a visitor to stop talking or get off my land. However, I'd argue that the First Amendment was applicable in this case is that the airlines are practically government run at this point, so don't have a right to pretend to be privatized.

A google search turned up a private international airport in South Africa and India but, none in the "land of the free".

Most airports are not government owned.  Government airports just tend to be the big ones since they are subsidized.
