did you guys read the article? the issue is property rights, the democrats want to restrict property rights. What the author of the article is doing is putting words in their mouth.

This article doesnt mean that the government thinks they own us. This article means that one conservative author thinks that since he cant do anything he wants with his property that the democrats think they own us.

I guess this is whats hanging me up here. We can think of a million ways that the government could/will topple. But a failed US government doesn't by any means = a anarchist nation. At least not permanently. One or many new governments would immediately emerge and resume forcibly taking unless the people of the country were actually organized enough to maintain a anarchist state of being.

As someone said, every government has eventually failed and ours will be no different. But let me remind you that no government has ever failed without a new one taking its place, where are all the anarchist countries?

My point is that just because our government is going to inevitably fail doesnt mean we are going to inevitably get what we want if we just keep waiting. No, the future ideology of this county is going to be the one that takes action to usher in that new era.

So some food for thought...

How can a completely new form of governing replace a old one without at least some sort of militaristic revolt? Could mass disobedience or public outrage bring down a government alone? hmm.....

I think by "give the government back to the people" they meant some sort of anarchy, at least im assuming thats why the snitch who is testifying against the others described them as a "anarchist militia". They wernt just planning to kill the prez either, they had stockpiled guns + big explosives + a bankroll along with plans to take over their military base and blow up a bunch of public buildings.

As far as I can tell the ultimate goal wasnt just a assassination but but a coup of the US government and then some form of anarchy. Who knows if they would be so noble as to truly abolish the government and give up their power if they succeeded though, doubt it!

Curious, how else can we replace this corrupt system? The system is broken and we are not going to fix it by voting. As others pointed out, all we have to do is wait for it to fail. But I dont think that human greed is ever going to fail, and as long as the greedy sons of bitches out there pulling the stings have the ability to they are going to keep oppressing us though the government. Im not saying these guys had it right by going all rambo, but i dont have any doubt that taking acting is necessary if we want change.

Im new here and not completely familiar with the site features/ member ideology, but i did a quick forum search and didnt come up with anything about the "anarchist militia"  F.E.A.R (Forever Enduring Always Ready) and their recent plot to kill Obama, take over the government, and give it back to the people. part of me wishes that they had succeeded... but their plan involved killing innocent civilians which is something that i cant support. Thoughts?
