211  Questions And Challenges / Challenges To Anarcho-Capitalism / Re: Thought's on wage slavery and domination on: June 26, 2012, 11:29:14 AM
I was quoting an article from libcom, I didn't read it.
212  Questions And Challenges / Challenges To Anarcho-Capitalism / Re: principles vs reality on: June 25, 2012, 08:44:53 PM
In theory anarcho capitalism is great, but reality is much muddier and confusing
Anarcho-communism is a much more realistic and viable solution.

Would it be possible to add another section?

Why is property not a region in which the owner has the right to initiate force?
A property owner can't beat anyone just for being on their property. Only to defend it.
215  General Category / General Discussion / This forum needs a lounge on: June 25, 2012, 08:36:59 PM
I've been lurking a while, only recently started posting, and the one problem problem I have with thsi board is that there is no lounge section. We need a place to talk about hobbies, movies, books, food, games, music, etc. with fellow anarchists.

Anyone else agree?
216  Questions And Challenges / Questions About Anarcho-Capitalism / Re: Is Anarcho-Capitalism Incompatible With Christianity? on: June 25, 2012, 07:32:05 PM
Yes, it is, in the same way a car is compatible with a lake. Sure, you could put it in there, but you would much rather have a boat. Or a road.
217  General Category / General Discussion / Re: do tax payers own big corporations on: June 19, 2012, 11:34:02 AM
Define "taxpayer". Define "corporation". Or at least define "own".

I thought anarchist knew using collectives as arguments was dangerous ("we are the government")?
218  Questions And Challenges / Challenges To Anarcho-Capitalism / Re: Anarcho-capitalism would be violent and short-lived on: June 19, 2012, 11:24:19 AM
Most people in the society would have to accept or be indifferent to anarcho capitalism for it to "work".

The fact that the average person believes anarchism means that big meany corporations will force children to work 16 hours a day for bread or behead their puppy is... disturbing to say the least.

In a debate with a statist,

Stephan Kinsella asked him "Im curious. What about, say, the USSR under communism, or China, now, or Cuba , now--is anarchy preferable to any of them?"

Statist replied: "Yes, Stephan, for all of them, because I think that under anarchy they would have quickly devolved into something far, far worse. And I know no Russians who would disagree with that..."

This statist was very intelligent. I just think he was stuck in his views of what anarchy would be.
219  Questions And Challenges / Questions About Anarcho-Capitalism / Re: Do Anarchists Enforce a Lack of Government? on: June 19, 2012, 11:13:46 AM
Unfortunately, for an anarchist society to work, a committed minority would need to actually be anarchists, with most other people being indifferent. That is why I think, at this point, voluntarism can only work on a small scale.

The State is definitively doing its job with education, though. Most people find it totally acceptable to force our laws onto the Amish.

J.R.R Tolkien was anarchist leaning. I was just scrolling and saw the eye of Sauron, so I figure this has to have some relevance to the thread.
221  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Converting an anarcho-communist on: June 19, 2012, 11:01:01 AM
All of his examples would be bunk in a free market. The price of getting an edumacation is artificially raised by the government. There is also the licensing, taxes, and the overall cost of living would be extremely cheap in a free market.

His examples of what occurs in the current system do not apply to a theoretical stateless society.

Also, why are communists on the internet always rich kids? Anyone have any idea?

222  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Words of Wisdom From Mr. Jefferson on: June 19, 2012, 10:51:29 AM
That is idiotic, if someone blackmails me I'll shoot them

So you own their mind?
No, but if he owns his body and a gun...
