61  General Category / General Discussion / Re: A good article on what we can expect from the drought on: August 11, 2012, 10:23:16 PM
I don't know the whole story about droughts, but I will say this.

Something most people don't know is that a couple of years ago the government stopped the aqueducts from sending water to the Central Valley in California. For those of you who don't know, the Central Valley is a major, MAJOR producer of fruits, nuts, and vegetables in California. So, not only is California the major food producer in America, the Central Valley is the major producer of California.

Since then, there has been a huge die-off of fruit and nut trees in the area, and a huge migration of workers away from the area. The whole area has turned into a wasteland.

Sadly, most Californians are unaware of this. It's been so under-reported by the media you'd have absolutely no idea why produce prices have risen so dramatically unless you're an activist in-the-know.

So, as far as all of these other droughts go throughout the nation, I don't know the story. But it wouldn't surprise me ONE BIT to find out they are all, ALL government caused droughts.

I'm very interested to hear your theory of why the gov would create these droughts

While I don't think fractional reserve banking is criminal or should be outlawed, I think it's a horrible business practice and don't want to do business with any bank or institution that does it.
I think it's false advertising.

I've cultivated an imaginary model of what Seth looked and sounded like based on all of his posts and articles that I've read.  I'm sad to say that my imagination has failed me once again in every conceivable way.  You look and sound nothing like how I'd imagined.

Shame on you!

Were you thinking Brad Pitt or Danny Devito?
I was thinking more like the drummer from CRASS mixed with Edward Norton.
64  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Military commander wants to bring back the draft on: July 11, 2012, 11:10:11 PM
They're not bringing back the draft. Unless World War III breaks out then we might see something but last I heard the military is easily meeting it's numbers.
If we go to war with Iran, which I'm sure we will by next year, I think there's a good chance they'll reinstate the draft. War with Iran will be insane and millions will die. US troops this time though.

I find these claims to be dubious. And a video is hardly proof of anything I could put some card board together spray paint it and call it a "mind reading machine" and put pictures of it on the web...
Here is the company that makes it:
applications-> defense and security->Mid-IR Spectroscopy

Most of the guys here wouldn't necessarily think that squatting is legitimate. I do, though.
67  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Bad News on: July 10, 2012, 11:31:59 PM
I think some of the claims were exaggerated. But if you hear anything else about this, be sure to share with us.

Hell, if I'm leaving, Mexico wouldn't be my first choice.
Didn't you watch the vid where Dave went to Acapulco? I'd love to live there. It's close enough that I could visit my family but the government is so poor there is barely any enforcement.
68  General Category / General Discussion / Bad News on: July 10, 2012, 11:02:27 PM
New laser scanners being developed for the government has the potential to completely wipe out the black market trade in the US...

"From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you."

This article says it will be ready in a couple years...and law enforcement agencies are VERY interested in their potential.
It seems legit, it has pics of the prototype scanners. Mexico anyone?

I'm currently in a hardcore/punk/doom metal band with a few fellow anarchists that aren't commies. Trying to get everything together but I know most ancaps don't like punk so it will be directed to the wider anarchist punk scene...but of course I'll put a SEK3 or rothbard reference around XD

I like the idea of co-ops and worker owned factories, but fuck if I want to live in a purely communist society. I want to be more independent.

Sounds like it's time to build some directional EMP devices..   knock that right outta the sky.. someone out there probably has freely available info on creating an EMP device from microwave bits or something.
All you need is alot of copper wire and a large magnet i think

I'd just like to note that I never ever advocate violence against anything but state and state officials. I find killing, harming, or otherwise messing up innocent civilians and their property to be atrocious and unjustified. I just want to make that clear.
I don't want to discuss some things on a message board where everyone can see it but I partially agree with you, as long as the state officials are directly aggression against you self defense is totally justified. I've also though long and hard about the prospects of federal buildings if you know what I mean. I won't say anything more on here about that though. We don't need to get indefinitely detained just yet.
