31  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Intellectual Property on: February 11, 2012, 01:03:34 AM
My take is that it's all garbage. Ideas are not limited like physical resources and therefore in need of rules governing ownership. Two people cannot use a piece of property such as a bicycle at the same time, so ownership must be established. Two people can sing the same song or read copies of the same book, so therefore no ownership is required. If you want an idea only for yourself, then don't tell anyone, don't get the guns of government involved.

Trademarks can be a little different, insofar as a company that is purposely imitating a product (Gucci purse) in order to defraud someone can be committing a crime, but I still think the market rather than government is a more efficient and moral source of justice to deal with force and fraud.

A brand new energy generator is desperately needed but will never be developed by government subsidied scientists. It will likely be discovered in somebody's basement(yes, just like John Galt does in Atlas Shrugged). The government has and will continue to crack down and steal any promising technology and kill any scientist who shows promise in this field, thus compounding the problem. Better to keep that shit secret until the state is sufficiently weakened or dead altogether(again, like Atlas Shrugged, the woman was ahead of her time I tell you).

I'm sure that Tesla probably came as close to anyone in inventing a Galt motor. The FBI seized all his files when he died, so we'll probably never know.

Hookers and blow.

I just tell folks that the turds in government will do whatever they want regardless of wether or not it is legal. Rendition has been going on before the NDAA was passed in blatant violation of the constitution. Just because the congress critters vote one way or another has nothing to do with the actions of the bureaucrats in any governmental agency. They have those jobs in order to abuse the power that comes with them, and to get away with as much as possible. Like GW Bush said, the constitution is just a goddamned piece of paper.
36  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Self Defense, in Practice on: January 19, 2012, 02:36:35 AM
Having a black belt in both kung fu and brazilian jiu jitsu, as well as a 3-1 record in MMA, it's been my experience that the best type of self defense is situational awareness. Constantly scan your surroundings for possible threats and avoid them at all costs. I also carry a Ruger LCP .380 wherever I go. I always tell people that if I have to put my hands on you something has gone horribly wrong on my end, or I've fired all of my rounds. I do recommend trying to find a good MMA gym and do some sparring. Most people are not comfortable being hit or hitting others, so just getting some practice in a safe but stressful situation can do wonders for you. I don't believe in most of the "lethal" techniques that teach you how to drop an attacker with one punch and kill him with just the right strikes. In a real fight shit goes wrong fast and adrenaline can make an attacker be able to withstand much more punishment than normal. Attack the eyes and throat, try to rip off ears, or simply go Hannibal Lecter and take a bite out of their face if you have to. No need for green beret, secret ninja stuff.

Holy. God. Shocked Ladies and gentlemen, Tom DiLorenzo has balls! Would any of you have the courage to do something like this?

I think it's hilarious. Good for him. I think we should have a Taxpayers Day where all government parasites praise their hosts for providing them with jobs.
38  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Child abuse? on: November 10, 2011, 11:48:57 AM
When you go through and think about it, mutilated is probably an apt term. Not remembering being any other way though and seeing how much of society views the practice, I don't hold a grudge against my parents. I have read a few comments on other message boards from men who have had the procedure performed as adults and it is a mixed bag as far as the resulting sensations go. Like I said previously, if I hadn't already had it done, I can't really imagine putting myself through it voluntarily unless the ladies were really into it.

As far as braces go, I don't consider that to be abuse. I didn't get them as a child when I probably did need them because now as an adult my teeth are misaligned and my bite is off as a result. That is something that is easier to correct while your body is still growing.

Sorry to hear about your mom and your missed opportunity. I wouldn't worry too much, as Dr. Paul gets around the country quite a bit between campaigning and lecturing for economic forums and the like. I have heard him speak in person several times now and even gotten the prized picture as well. Of course living in Houston a couple of hours outside his home district gives me a better chance as well.

At my job we have an all staff meeting every other week or so where the managers get everyone together to talk about nothing important. This last time we were presented with the annual powerpoint of military glorification for the upcoming veteran's day. After the state induced orgasm the general manager called all of the veterans out to come stand up on stage and be recognized for our "heroism". Only one person went up there, the rest of us apparently no longer giving a shit or (in my case) ashamed of having served as a thug of the state. Hopefully the management will get a clue and stop doing this in the future.
41  General Category / General Discussion / Making the state sound good on: November 10, 2011, 09:29:38 AM
Just listening to my library of illegally downloaded mp3's and listened to the Ray Charles songs "Georgia on My Mind" and "America The Beautiful". This is about the only way the state sounds appealing. The cover of "Coming to America" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and "America, Fuck Yeah" by Trey Parker are also pretty good.
42  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Child abuse? on: November 10, 2011, 09:26:08 AM
While I have been "mutilated", I'm not upset about it, having heard a few horror stories from friends that haven't been (the zipper scene from 'There's Something About Mary', and others). Everything seems to work fine, but if it hadn't been done, I'm not sure that I would have it done now.
43  General Category / General Discussion / Child abuse? on: November 04, 2011, 07:14:54 PM
Just wondering on what everyone's take is on things like circumcision. Would you consider it to be child abuse? I had a daughter, so I was fortunate not to have to deal with this issue, but her mother and I did have her ears pierced when she was only a few months old. I realize this is nowhere near the same since ear piercing doesn't have to be permanent, but I do remember feeling bad for the 30 seconds or so that she was crying afterwards. Thoughts?

Coulrophobia-fear of clowns. Probably caused by watching Poltergeist, It, or being molested by Nipples the Clown at your best friend's 8th birthday party. My wife fucking hates clowns.

I could only stomach about two minutes worth of the video. Too many man breasts and piercings for my taste. There are many subcultures to go along with whatever interests that one may hold. I try to keep that in check and not let myself get too carried away with my hobbies. These folks would probably not be the type I would normally hang out with, but so long as they don't violate the NAP, more power to them. The gathering doesn't look like a caulrophobic friendly place though.
