Title: Have we found Nakamoto????
Post by: SinCityVoluntaryist on March 07, 2014, 04:37:37 PM

I mean, his personality and background match someone who would invent something like Bitcoin. Eccentric, libertarian, crazy about encryption and security. Top that with a background in physics and computer science, and...I really don't know. Guys, this really could be him.

I think it's him, but the overwhelming majority of Bitcoin redditors don't think so and are pissed at the reporter.

I can't understand the hate for the reporter. I think she followed a lead and there is strong evidence that it's him. We may never know because he can't prove he's not. Unless Satoshi gives us a message with a signed private key and proves somehow that it's not him, he'll always be the guy I think it is.

There are only like 4 Satoshi Nakamotos in existence. 1 of them is dead and the other 2 don't fit the profile at all. It's just a little too coincidental that somebody with the name Satoshi Nakamoto would fit the profile exactly.

The only reason I can see him denying it now is that he used to work for the feds. Those people are used to telling bald faced lies and denying involvement in things.

But like I said, we may never know. But I think it's him.

Seth it's a little ridiculous don't you think? How many years has it been, and no one else ever cross checked the alias/name whatever, until this reporter comes along?

The reporter revealed this guys identity and shit and put a target on his back, whether or not he is Satoshi. Bitcoin steps on some toes.

I am surprised this guy's name never came up sooner, for sure.

If it really is Satoshi Nakamoto, then what they hell was he thinking using his real name?

Right, especially if he truly never wanted to be identified.  Also, I haven't read too much about it - did he do work for the government after creating bitcoin, or only before?

Before, but that's only what's known. There are plenty of people who work for the government off the record, so to speak.

It seems to me that most of the hate for the reporter is stemming from the fact that she posted an image of his house for the world to see without his permission. No self-respecting journalist goes and does something like that. Then again, the world of mainstream journalism is pretty much dead.

Publishing pictures of people's houses is standard. That doesn't bother me at all, personally.

I think it's him. I think Satoshi is trolling the shit out of everybody.

Satoshi Nakamoto: Master Troll

For me it's about security concerns. At this point if it's him I don't think killing him will accomplish anything, but it might be considered a good move if the State thinks that he'll build other subversive stuff.

If it's him the feds probably knew a long time ago.

Probably. It's just so obvious, but hey maybe that's the genius of it.
