That's funny. You know, this sort of thing was one of the reasons I decided to give up poker. The thought of winning a big tournament and having the government get half of my winnings made me cringe. Poker is a game of narrow margins. And when half of your winnings get taken by the government it just makes things that much less profitable. Now, online you can make money and just decide to not file, but in a live tourney they take your money right there. You don't even touch it before it goes to the feds, so there is no option for civil disobedience.

I'm much happier in the agora anyways.
