So...this is an actual thing that's being funded?

I can't even describe how excited I am over this. I don't watch movies much, but this looks great. Does anyone know anything else about it? Will it be in theaters? Imagine if it was successful, and they made video games! We need a modern day Giver/Fahrenheit451/1984, and a movie is the way to go. People don't read anymore...

People don't read anymore? I recall a dystopian young adult novel setting off a firestorm a few months ago.
This looks relatively good.

^I assume you're referring to The Hunger Games.

This doesn't look like a feel good film to me. It looks like a sad one to me.
EDIT: The music sounds like it was composed by Hans Zimmer, or it's at least influenced by him. If he did write it then this film is awesome. Zimmer did the soundtracks to The Rock, The Last Samurai, Gladiator, King Arthur, and many many more.

That would be correct.

It's being directed by two vets. I'm not sure if I find this funny or disturbing.

This is the kind of movie that would upset me. Not that I won't watch or support it, but this type of stuff gets to that dark place in my head. As it was intended, I'm sure.

This looks surprisingly good. The production values are great, and I love how it isn't watered down (people being shot in the head). The only thing that I disliked about it was the FEMA/Illuminati triangle thing, for two reasons. One, it dates it to right now in America, and two... it is too Alex Jonesish for my taste. That is just my opinion though. I really want to see it still. I just hope they don't go too crazy on current american conspiracy theories, or bring up 9/11 at all.

perhaps but sometimes we need to be around stuff that gets to the dark places in our minds, since that encourages us to CHANGE things so that reality doesn't reflect our imaginations.

Only because they made it a movie.

I saw that too...I was disappointed. It made me question where they'd go with the movie. As others have mentioned, it might be a bit too Icke/Jonesy/Truthery/Illuminati-ish for my tastes. Either way, I'll end up watching it.

Not at all. They made it a movie because of the success of the books. The movie was a blockbuster because of the fervor towards the books. See Harry Potter for a similar phenomenon.
