Nice video. Also very depressing. Just reminds me how much I want to get out of this country. Screw it, I'm buying a houseboat and moving into international waters.

What is generally considered a house boat won't survive international waters when even a small storm comes by. Most are not meant to even move around a dock.

Might I suggest looking for some liveaboard forums to see what people are currently living and moving around the world with.

I'm thinking of something bigger than what people live on nowadays. If you really want it to be safe from storms, it can't be something meant for one person or family. Maybe something closer to the size of a naval ship, or a giant oil platform. I suppose if the idea ever became popular, the states would just divvy up the international waters so that no area of the planet was unclaimed.
