I recommend reading Lord of the Rings. Tolkien was an anarchist and tried to portray the hobbits as anarchists in LOTR.
That's the one where a bunch of French kids climb in to a dresser drawer and end up in a magical land ruled by a Tiger, right?

I'm always looking for libertarianish fiction, I have two jobs where I can listen to audio books so I'm burning through them. I'm finding more than I ever expected though, these are just the recent ones. If you know of any make sure and tell me.
the repairman jack series, starting with
the tomb
. f. paul wilson, all his stuff is tainted with libertarianism, but he never gets preachy.
i just finished up
the king in yellow
, robert w. chambers. romantic short stories set in paris and new york. . . . unsettling is all i can say. after that i had to quickly burn down
red dragon
by thomas harris for the sixth time.
just to, you know, get normal.

I finished reading the Mockingjay (the final book of The Hunger Games) a few days ago. Excellent, excellent series. Again, if you're looking for a fiction trilogy that boldly and exquisitely represents the horrors of today's world, read these books.
I won't spoil the ending, but what I will say is that Collins does not stick with conformity when it comes to ending this series. Very dark, but also realistic at the same time.
I'm going to read The Dhammapada next.

Just finished The way of kings, and Eye of the world, Dragonflight and almost done with The great hunt. Its near impossible to read most high fantasy books as an anarchist without an often rolling of the eyes, especially when most of the plots involve "Heirs to the throne" and the like. However, Way of kings did have some nice anti-authoritative undertones, and the war depicted in it is presented as a wasteful cash grab. Havnt really picked up any political leanings in the WoT series yet, but i had high hopes for Mcarthy, as i had heard she was an anarchist, however her depiction of the dragonriders in the first novel as lofty protectors who deserve payment from the ungrateful people smacks of state argument for the military.

I'm reading a few things right now which I'll be obnoxious and number.
1) David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest. I'm just over halfway done at this point. Absolutely stunning so far.
2) Philip Jose Farmer's To Your Scattered Bodies Go. It's not what I expected. I thought the premise would be used to explore issues of overpopulation and scarcity. Kinda meh so far.
3) Mises' Theory of Money and Credit. I needed another reading of this.
4) Jorge Borges' Labyrinths. My first experience with Borges. I can see why he's regarded as a master after only a few of his shorts. Very level collection so far.
If anyone has a goodreads account

The Ethics of Liberty by Rothbard. I would also like to read Drugs that don't Work and Natural Therapies that Do.

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back.
You take the blue pill- the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill- you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Great quote from the book "The Ice Owl", which I'm also reading,
“My mother got pregnant without my father’s consent, and when she refused to have an abortion he sued her for copyright infringement. She’d made unauthorized use of his genes, you see. So she ducked out to avoid paying royalties, and we’ve been on the lam ever since. If he ever caught us, I could be arrested for having bootleg genes.”
