Did you and your fiance sign the FSP ticker and notify of arrival? Also, tell us about your first few days.
Thanks for reminding me. Haven't been online much other than my phone since my PC is still broken. Parts should be here tomorrow. I notified FSP that they can bump the ticker for me.
First few days have been good. Like our room. It is cozy. Also, it's half the price of the room we were renting in ND. Lots of rain. Found out all our other roomates are anarchists, which kicks ass! However, they haven't really heard of this site. One of them has but he hasn't been on the forums. Gota change that.
Had a good couple of discussions so far, getting to know the others. It is an amazing feeling to have dinner with another anarchist! Hope to get the time to head up to Franconia to finally meet Seth one day too. Shelly (tatertotchick) and I are planning to go check out Portsmouth this weekend. Applied for several jobs there and I'm hoping that works out. Manchester is too damn big for my tastes. I'm a country boy.
Meeting anarchists kicks ass.
Get off your asses and move here. God, why didn't I move sooner!
Excellent news!
No, most Free Staters haven't heard of this site, nor do they frequent it. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that once you're in New Hampshire, you're surrounded by so many anarchists that you don't really feel the need to spend time on a forum. Point being, they get their community needs filled in real life instead of online. Also, most communications between and amongst the Free Staters is done on Facebook, for better or worse.
Yeah, Manchester is a good starting city for Free Staters, but my wife and I wanted out of there the day we arrived. It took us six months to relocate. Also, the more you check out the state and meet more Free Staters, you'll notice there is a big difference in the personalities of Free Staters between the different regions.
These are generalizations, of course, but Manchester was heavily populated by drinkers and smokers. Keene likes the public disobedience. Portsmouth is for young techie professionals, and Grafton County is for off-the-grid types.
I definitely want to have you two up for the day sometime. We'll work on that.
