Just out of curiosity what would you say SHOULD have been done about Kony, considering that 1. him and his army aren't a gov't entity, 2. they are rather unpleasant people. and not considering that 1. He's much weaker now, and 2. The various other issues. I.e. what in a stateless society do you think would be done to stop people like Kony from kidnapping children, using the females as sex slaves, an the males as child soldiers?

I believe this is where the local militia and/or a private defense service handles the issue. And since Konys crimes are heinous and unfathomable, it wouldn't surprise me if a PDF (Private Defense Force) did so as a favor to the region and it's people.

Agreed. That's what I tried telling several non-anarchist friends but they said "Well what would stop the "PDF/militia' from taking Kony's place as a bunch of a**holes with guns

That's when you reply "What's to stop the Ugandan govt. to take Konys place as a bunch of a**holes with guns?" People always seem genuinely surprised when their argument is used against them.

Unfortunately I had already tried that.....they just said "oh the Ugandan gov't would NEVER do that!"

I have my doubts that Kony even exists. He's probably just some phony bs created by liberal interventionists to create a few more bases in africa

I thought the same thing when I watched the video. "So, this is our two minutes of hate?"

I tried to watch Kony 2012, but when he started showing his son pictures of Kony and asking him questions, I just couldnt take it anymore so I turned it off. Children are an effective prop for the propaganda machine.

I saw that the other day, before I watched the video and was confused by the whole thing. Now that I see it again, it's quite funny.

This whole Kony thing is an amazing amount of bullshit. As it so turns out (and you'll see this in the article below), Movements.org, the organization funding the whole Kony 2012 voice piece, is nothing's more than a sidearm of the State Department. In other words, the left hand of the propaganda machine. This "NGO" (and I use that term loosely) has been used in the past to justify involvement in other countries. But, as it so turns out, our desire to enter these countries has nothing to do with human aid, but everything to do with resource control. Just more bullshit: http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/107339.html

Also, it's interesting that the people backing this ignore the evidence that western backed governments have done to ruin Africa. Loom at what happens to families in Uganda who are pushing from their homes in the name of climate change.
