01-03-2013: Ron Paul Retires

 My friends, as of of last night, the good Dr. himself has finally retired from Congress. Ron is heading back to text to relax and be with his family. He fought long and hard for over 11 terms in Congress, and we are the ones who must now continue his hard fought legacy.

 What will Dr. Paul do now? Admit he's a voluntaryist? Move to New Hampshire? Admit he's a voluntaryist and then move to New Hampshire?! What are your thoughts?

^It's not a matter of him being a coward. I think Ron has simply been waiting for the right time to publicly announce it. If Ron had announced his inner voluntaryism during his run for president, the corporate media would have crucified him on a stick. He was smart enough to only mention it at specific intervals (i.e. during his farewell speech to congress).

He did come out on FOX Business and did speak very openly about Voluntaryism:

This man definitely made history. I may not agree with everything he has said or done, but had it not been for Ron Paul, I think more than half of us would not be on this forum.

Paul is likely to continue giving speeches and giving commentary on events and what have you. I suspect he will fulfill a role along the lines of being the Ralph Nader of Libertarianism. He need not be in office to continue to draw attention to the problems of big government and the promise of Libertarian solutions.

I could care less if he comes out as a Voluntaryist/AnCap/MA/Agorist/etc. As long as he draws more attention to the fact that there are more choices than the two-party system we have now, that counts as progress as far as I think.
