NY Legislature to Introduce New Bill making possessing AWB Firearm a felony

 I posted earlier about Illinois trying to pass new Bills to virtually make firearms illegal in that State; well NY is at it now.  This new Bill will remove grandfathering of AWB firearms, and allow the Police Superintendent to decide -without any vote or any oversight- what firearms should be illegal.

    All firearms must either be rendered inoperative or surrendered to the police. No grandfathering, no exceptions.
    Removes the “grandfathering” exception for possession of magazines with a greater than 10 round capacity.
    Bumps up AWB-firearm possession from 3rd degree “criminal possession of a weapon” to first degree, putting simple possession of such a firearm at the same level of punishment as Rape 1 or Manslaughter 1.

Oh, and the whole thing is severable. So if one section is ever declared unconstitutional, the rest of it stays.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I was just waiting to see which State would be first: We now have Il, and NY, we're just waiting on CA, and MA and I almost forgot NJ to round out the top totalitarian States in the Union to move forward with Firearms banning or confiscation legislation.

I'm not sure there are actually many conservatives left in NY.  I think NY politics stomps out and discards anything which isn't a totalitarian progressive.

I think FOX News is in NY, and if they want to keep their operating license they will keep their mouths quiet if they are told to.

Of course. Murdoch stated earlier in Dec. that he thinks all assault weapons should be banned. He'll ,are sure the sheep at FAUX follow his commands.

Michael Bloomberg is probably the most authoritarian mayor I can think of right now...

I really hope this fails to pass, but if it does the Libertarian-minded citizens in that area better learn a thing or two about mace and tasers.

I live in Massachusetts, which sucks especially since I can readily see us trying to pass something like this soon, when I've been planning on looking into getting a firearm license soon.

Forget the license brother go somewhere and get a weapon and come back. Or make contact with the local underbelly of society and make the purchase. If you have the license they know you have weapons.
