They recently took out a roundabout in my neighborhood because people complained about it. There are several stop lights very close to it. They replaced it with a stop light and now the entire area gridlocks. That was the very reason they took out the light years ago at that location and put the roundabout there in the first place.
People prefer gridlock rather than thinking.

People, in numbers, are remarkably stupid.

Thanks for that article, Bob.
You know what's funny? The fact that countries that are supposed to be living under the guise of socialism are instituting practices that are more liberty based than laws in the United States.

They can't afford to be as statist as we can.

Where I live people make their own roads... Especially in the mountains of what is called "Sedillo Hill" There is a guy up there with a plough and every winter when it snows he ploughs the road to his house because if he doesn't the only way there is by foot...
When there is need and the State, need always wins. People who wait on the State to get things done wait a long time... The State maintained roads are nicer, but they are always under "construction", you know that normal state where traffic is reduced to a crawl by orange barrels yet no one is working? In the country where I live and people need to get shit done, today, we do it ourselves most of the time and it amazes me, what could we do with out the State to hold us back at every turn?
I remember one time me and some guys were putting a roof on a house and some goon walks up behind the truck and starts yapping about permits. The boss told him to help or get out of the way because the roof was getting done today with or with out him.
We finished the roof got paid and left. And the funny thing is none of the guys I was working with were Anarchists go figure...

Residential repair/construction is very transient. Companies will fold and reopen under another name the same day with the same people to get around legal restrictions. By the time anyone has said anything, the company is gone.
