The History Of Hacking

March 18th, 2011   Submitted by Seth King

This is a fascinating little documentary about the evolution of hacking. You do not have to be a techie to appreciate the stories told. If you’re an anarchist activist you should at least have a cursory understanding of the wars being waged in the digital realm. Its many nuances definitely affect our daily lives. Take, for example, the fact that this documentary was produced before the Bradley Manning scandal. Adrian Lamo, a key figure in this film, fails to understand that no good deed goes unpunished when dealing with corporations and governments. You’d think that someone of his caliber would take a few hours out of his life to learn the anarchist philosophy. Instead, he ends up being an accomplice to Bradley Manning’s torture. Enjoy!
